So I legit teared up over this. What a lovely poem.
I am not a theologian, but I too like to believe that all animals have souls in their way, and also return to God.
Thank you! I deeply believe this as well, and though it's all speculation, I see no reason why God wouldn't also speak to a fish as He might a man.
And regardless of whether God really directly summoned her like in the poem, she's Home now.
And the Lord spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.
